Generator Sales, Rental and Service in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet

In short. Reddy Generators supplies new, used and refurbished diesel generators, rents sets from its own fleet, and services, overhauls and maintains generators of all makes for customers in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet. The tri-city is about 146 km from Hyderabad along NH 163, so equipment and engineers come from our Hyderabad base; visits are planned with you and the timing is confirmed when you call. This page is written for the new wave of factories in and around Warangal: how to specify backup power for a new unit properly the first time, and how the same thinking applies to rice mills, hospitals and campuses.

Who this page is for: Factory owners and project engineers setting up in the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park or Madikonda, rice-mill owners, hospital and campus facility managers, and building owners in the Warangal–Hanamkonda–Kazipet tri-city who need a generator bought, rented, serviced or put on AMC.

Key facts

  • Distance: about 146 km by road from Hyderabad via NH 163 (Bhongir, Raghunathapally, Ghanpur, Kazipet); allow a working day for a planned visit or delivery.
  • Power distribution: the area is served by TGNPDCL, the northern Telangana distribution company, which is headquartered in Hanumakonda.
  • Climate: hot, semi-arid; summer peaks in May with average highs around 42 °C, and Telangana heatwaves push well beyond that. Monsoon June–September.
  • New demand: the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park at Shayampet (Geesukonda mandal) and Chintalapalli (Sangem mandal) was inaugurated in May 2026 as India’s first PM MITRA park; garment and knitting units there are export-oriented.
  • Established demand: a large rice-mill cluster, the Enumamula agricultural market, NIT Warangal, Kakatiya University and the 1,450-bed MGM Hospital.
  • What we do here: sales (new sets through supply tie-ups, plus used and refurbished sets), rental, service, AMC, overhauls, alternator rewinding, AVR and controller work, spares, AMF panels and changeovers.

Why Warangal needs a different conversation about backup power

Many generator needs in the tri-city are familiar ones: a rice mill that loses a day’s milling when the feeder trips, a nursing home that needs its theatre and ICU kept alive, a college whose examination hall and server room cannot go dark. Those needs remain. What has changed is the arrival of large export garment and textile units. An export unit is judged by its buyers on delivery dates, and its production floor is very different from a rice mill: hundreds of servo-motor sewing machines, LED lighting, compressed air, steam finishing and evaporative cooling — almost all of it electronic, single-phase heavy and sensitive to voltage and frequency disturbances.

New units are usually planned by teams who know the machinery well but are buying a generator for the first time in Telangana. The commonest problems in new units are a set sized from the machine list rather than from real demand, an alternator that overheats on non-linear load, and a changeover that was never designed with the factory’s own UPS units in mind. This page sets out how to avoid all three.

Local conditions and what they mean for the generator

Local condition What it does to a generator Decision to make
May highs averaging about 42 °C, with heatwave days hotter still Engine and alternator output fall at high air temperature; radiators run close to their design limit inside an acoustic enclosure Check the data sheet rating at site ambient, not at reference conditions; ask for the radiator design ambient with the enclosure fitted. See ambient temperature derating.
Dry pre-monsoon winds, open plots and construction dust in new industrial parks Air filters choke early; radiator cores clog; alternator windings collect dust Specify heavy-duty air filtration where available, and an AMC that includes filter and radiator checks before and during summer.
June–September monsoon with intense spells Water entry into enclosures, cable trenches and fuel tanks; earth-pit readings change Raise the set on a plinth above flood level; fit breathers and drain points on tanks; check earthing after the first heavy rains.
Rural feeders around the new parks and mill clusters Voltage dips, phase failures and planned shutdowns for line work Use an AMF panel with phase-failure and under/over-voltage sensing so the set takes over cleanly; read our AMF panel guide.
Large share of electronic, single-phase and variable-speed load in garment units Harmonic currents heat the alternator and distort voltage; uneven phases cause unbalance Choose an alternator with permanent-magnet or auxiliary-winding excitation, balance single-phase circuits across phases, and allow headroom. See harmonics.
About 146 km from our Hyderabad base Parts and engineers travel by road; a missing filter or belt can cost a day Keep a small critical-spares kit on site and agree a planned-visit calendar under AMC.

Industries and sites in the tri-city — typical sets and duty

Site type Where you find it Typical set size Duty and what matters
Export garment or knitting unit Kakatiya Mega Textile Park; Madikonda and other industrial areas 160–500 kVA per building; multiple sets for large sheds Standby for long shifts; non-linear load, step loading of compressors, clean changeover to UPS-backed IT and cutting rooms.
Rice mill (raw or parboiled) Mill cluster around Warangal, Hanamkonda and nearby mandals 82.5–320 kVA Motor-heavy (elevators, huller, polisher, colour sorter); starting current decides size more than running load. See rice and grain.
Cotton ginning and pressing Along the cotton belt around the city 125–380 kVA Seasonal, dusty, long hours in the cotton season; air filtration and radiator cleaning are critical.
Hospital or nursing home Hanamkonda and Warangal, including the MGM Hospital campus area 62.5–750 kVA; often two sets Critical loads (theatre, ICU, oxygen plant, lifts); fast automatic transfer and a tested standby set. See hospitals.
Engineering college, university, school Kazipet (NIT Warangal), Hanamkonda (Kakatiya University) and private campuses 62.5–500 kVA per block Examination halls, labs, servers, hostels and pumps; low-noise acoustic sets near hostels. See education campuses.
Agricultural market and cold chain Enumamula market yard and surrounding godowns 30–200 kVA Weighing, lighting, offices and cold rooms; reliability in the peak arrival season.
Apartments, offices, showrooms Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet 15–250 kVA Lifts, water pumps, common lighting; acoustic enclosures in residential lanes.

Size ranges are typical for the type of site, not a recommendation. The right size always comes from your own load list and starting conditions.

Illustrative case: sizing backup power for a new garment unit

Illustrative case. A new garment unit in the textile park plans one production shed. Its machine list adds up to well over 250 kW of nameplate load, and the first quotation it received was for a 320 kVA set. We work the size out from expected running demand instead.

Load group Basis Running kW
Sewing machines (servo motors) 120 machines × 0.55 kW × 0.6 diversity (not every machine runs at once) 39.6
LED lighting Measured from the lighting layout 12.0
Screw air compressor 22 kW motor, star-delta start 22.0
Exhaust fans and evaporative coolers Summer running 15.0
Office air conditioning and IT Through a UPS for the computers 10.0
Finishing: steam irons and small electric steam generator Running estimate 18.0
Total running demand 116.6
Running kVA = 116.6 kW ÷ 0.85 power factor ≈ 137 kVA
Planning at about 75 % loading: 137 ÷ 0.75 ≈ 183 kVA → nearest standard size 200 kVA
Check: 137 ÷ 200 ≈ 69 % of rating at full summer running

Motor starting check. The compressor’s full-load current is about 39 A at 415 V. A star-delta starter typically draws two to three times that on starting; taking three times as a conservative figure gives about 116 A, which is a step of about 1.732 × 415 × 116 ÷ 1,000 ≈ 83 kVA at low power factor. On a 200 kVA set that step is about 42 % of rating — acceptable for most modern sets, but the voltage dip figure on the actual data sheet must be checked, and the compressor should be started after the sewing floor is on load rather than at the same instant. Our motor starting guide explains the check.

Non-linear load. Servo drives, LED drivers and IT supplies draw distorted current. With non-linear load forming most of the demand, we would specify the 200 kVA set with permanent-magnet or auxiliary-winding excitation and check that the alternator frame has thermal margin — sometimes that means an alternator one frame larger than the engine strictly needs. The single-phase circuits (lighting, irons, office) must be spread across the three phases.

Ambient check. If the chosen set’s data sheet shows a reduction of, say, 5 % at the site ambient, the usable rating becomes about 190 kVA and the load share about 72 % — still inside the comfortable band. The result: one 200 kVA set, correctly specified, instead of a 320 kVA set that would have run at about 43 % load for most of its life, burning more fuel per unit and suffering the light-load problems explained in our light-load guide. If the unit plans a second shed, a second matched set added later usually beats one oversized set now.

How sales, rental, service and spares work for Warangal

1

Load review before a quotation. Send the machine list, single-line diagram if you have one, and photographs of the proposed location. We check the size, starting conditions, harmonics and changeover arrangement from Hyderabad, and visit the site when the project needs it; the visit date is agreed with you.
2

New sets. We supply new CPCB IV+ compliant sets through supply tie-ups with all major makes. Delivery to Warangal is by road on a trailer or truck; the plinth, crane or hydra access, cable route and earthing should be ready before the set arrives.
3

Used and refurbished sets. For a unit that wants to start production while a new set is on order, or a rice mill on a tighter budget, we offer used and refurbished sets from 15 to 2,000 kVA. Every set is load-bank tested before sale; refurbished sets carry a six-month warranty (exclusions apply); used sets sold as-is come with an inspection report. We also buy used sets and take sets in part exchange.
4

Rental. Rental sets from our own fleet suit factory commissioning, a shed running before its permanent set is installed, campus events and planned shutdowns. Give us the dates, the load and the site access; availability and dispatch are confirmed when you book.
5

Service and AMC. Breakdown calls are taken seven days a week from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm; the engineer’s travel time to the tri-city is confirmed on the call. Planned AMC visits are scheduled in advance so that filters, belts and coolant arrive with the engineer. Overhauls, alternator rewinding and AVR or controller work are done on site or at our Amberpet workshop as the job requires.
6

Spares. We supply spare parts for all makes. Keep the engine and alternator serial numbers photographed so the right part is identified first time.

Within Telangana we have maintained DG sets, AVRs and fire-fighting engines at nearly 50 TS TRANSCO substations across three divisions since 2018 — see our substation maintenance work. That planned-visit discipline is what we bring to AMC customers outside Hyderabad.

What to keep ready on site in Warangal

  • One set of fuel, oil and air filters and a fan belt for each set — the items most often holding up a repair.
  • Engine oil and coolant of the grade your set uses, enough for one top-up.
  • A spare starting battery or a charged battery on maintenance charge for critical sites.
  • A written changeover procedure at the panel, so night-shift staff follow the same steps.
  • The controller’s alarm list — our guide for site staff explains the common alarms.
  • Fuel records: litres received, running hours and kWh, so unusual consumption is spotted early.

New-factory backup power specification sheet

Use this sheet when you ask for quotations, and give the same filled sheet to every supplier so the offers can be compared fairly.

Item Your entry
Unit name, plot number and park or locality
Sanctioned load and contract demand from TGNPDCL
Loads to be backed up (all / selected feeders)
Expected running demand in kW (day shift / night shift)
Largest motor (kW) and its starter type
Share of electronic load (servo drives, VFDs, LED, IT, UPS) — rough %
Single-phase loads and how they are split across phases
UPS units on the generator supply (kVA, make)
Changeover required: manual / AMF panel / synchronised sets
Location: outdoor plinth / indoor room; distance to main panel (m)
Noise limit at boundary or nearby hostels/housing
Expected running hours per month and fuel storage planned
Future expansion (second shed, extra lines) and timing
Interim power needed before the permanent set arrives? Dates
All connection and changeover work must be done by competent, licensed electrical personnel. A generator must never be able to back-feed the TGNPDCL network: the changeover must be interlocked so that mains and generator can never be connected together.

Common mistakes

  • Sizing the generator from the total of machine nameplates instead of expected running demand, and ending up with a set that runs lightly loaded for years.
  • Ignoring non-linear load from servo drives, LED drivers and UPS units, so the alternator overheats or the voltage waveform upsets electronics.
  • Starting the compressor and the whole production floor at the same instant after a changeover, causing a deep voltage dip.
  • Leaving the set on open ground in a new industrial park without a raised plinth, so monsoon water and summer dust reach the enclosure.

What to send us

Send us the unit’s name and location in the tri-city, the machine or load list with the expected running demand, the largest motor and its starter, the UPS units that will run on the generator, photographs of the proposed set location and main panel, the cable distance, any noise limit, and whether you need to buy, rent or service — plus the dates if it is a rental. Use the Generator sales enquiry, or WhatsApp the details and photographs.

Questions customers in Warangal ask

Do you provide generators on rent in Warangal?

Yes. We rent sets from our own fleet to sites in Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet for factory commissioning, planned shutdowns, events and bridging until a permanent set is installed. Tell us the load, dates and site access, and availability and dispatch are confirmed when you book.

How quickly can a service engineer reach Warangal?

Breakdown calls are taken seven days a week from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. The tri-city is about 146 km from our Hyderabad base, so travel time is confirmed when you call. AMC visits are planned in advance.

Which generator size do I need for a garment unit in the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park?

It depends on running demand, not the machine list total. A single shed with around 120 sewing machines, a 22 kW compressor, lighting, cooling and finishing often lands around 200 kVA, but send us your load list and we will check it, including compressor starting and non-linear load.

Do you sell used or refurbished generators in Warangal?

Yes. Used and refurbished sets from 15 to 2,000 kVA, all major makes, are load-bank tested before sale. Refurbished sets carry a six-month warranty with stated exclusions; used sets sold as-is come with an inspection report.

Can you install an AMF panel for my rice mill or hospital in Hanamkonda?

Yes. We supply and install AMF panels and changeover arrangements, interlocked so that the generator can never back-feed the grid. Connections are made by competent, licensed personnel.

Do you take AMC for generators in Kazipet and Hanamkonda?

Yes. AMC covers planned preventive maintenance visits, checks before and during summer, and breakdown support for all makes. The visit calendar is agreed with you so that parts travel with the engineer.

Will a generator run my factory UPS properly?

It will if the set and UPS are matched: enough headroom, a stable governor and a suitable alternator excitation system. Our guide to UPS problems on generator supply explains the checks we make.
