A local generator business since 2002

Reddy Generators is led by Srinivas Reddy, Managing Partner, a service engineer with more than two decades in the generator industry. The business started in 2002 and has grown with the twin cities, from apartment blocks and offices in Secunderabad to factories in the industrial estates around Hyderabad. Being based in Tarnaka puts us close to the older commercial and residential areas of Secunderabad and within reach of the main road corridors to the rest of the city.

We work on generators of all makes. Equipment from Cummins, Kirloskar, Mahindra, Perkins, CAT, FG Wilson, Greaves, Eicher, Honda and TMTL regularly passes through our hands, and we service each according to its manufacturer’s data.

Who we work with

Each of these needs a different capacity, noise level, fuel arrangement and transfer method, so we start from the load and the site rather than offering a fixed package.

Local conditions that shape generator choice

Heat and dust

Summer afternoons in Hyderabad often pass 40 °C, and a generator enclosure standing in the sun runs hotter still. A set that is adequate in January can derate or shut down on high coolant temperature in May. We check derating data, place enclosures to avoid hot-air recirculation and keep radiators clean as part of maintenance.

Monsoon

Heavy rain brings water into fuel tanks, cable trenches and poorly sealed canopies, and damp affects alternator insulation in sets that stand idle. Pre-monsoon checks on drainage, fuel water separation and insulation resistance prevent many of the failures we are called to in July and August.

Grid supply

DISCOM supply in the twin cities is generally reliable, but planned maintenance outages, feeder faults and storm damage still happen. The standby set may run only a few hours a month, which is why regular exercise and battery care matter more than running hours suggest.

Space and noise in dense areas

Many sites in older parts of Secunderabad and Hyderabad have tight access, rooftop or basement locations and close neighbours. Acoustic enclosures, exhaust routing and access for cranes or trolleys are planned at the survey stage.

Service coverage and response

Our service team covers Hyderabad, Secunderabad and the surrounding areas from Tarnaka. Response time depends on location, time of day, traffic and the nature of the fault, so we confirm it when you call rather than promise a fixed figure. AMC customers get scheduled visits planned in advance. For sites elsewhere in Telangana or in neighbouring states, tell us the location and requirement, and we will confirm what support is practical before you commit.

Sizing a generator correctly

Most problems with standby sets in the city come from sizing on connected load or on a neighbour’s choice. The starting point is the real running load and the largest motor start.

kVA = kW / PF

Here kW is the total running load the set must carry and PF is the load power factor, commonly taken as 0.8 for mixed loads. Example (illustrative): an office with 64 kW of running load at 0.8 PF needs 80 kVA of running capacity, before checking lift and pump motor starts and adding a margin. Our generator sizing guide explains the full method.

Common mistakes

What to send us

Send the site location in Hyderabad or Secunderabad, the load list or the equipment you need to run, whether the set will be indoors or outdoors, and photos of the proposed location. For service or parts, include the generator make, model, nameplate photo, hours run and a description of the fault. Call or WhatsApp 098852 01608, email info@reddygenerators.com, or use the contact page.

Questions engineers ask

Where is Reddy Generators located?

Our office is in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, and our workshop is at Pedda Amberpet, Hyderabad. We serve customers across Hyderabad and Secunderabad from there. Call or WhatsApp 098852 01608 for directions or to arrange a visit.

Do you service generators of all brands?

Yes. We service diesel generators of all makes, including Cummins, Kirloskar, Mahindra, Perkins, CAT, FG Wilson, Greaves, Eicher, Honda and TMTL sets. Service follows the manufacturer’s data for each engine and alternator.

How quickly can you attend a breakdown in Hyderabad?

It depends on the site location, time of day, traffic and the fault. We confirm an expected time when you call. AMC contracts set out how breakdown calls are handled for covered sets.

Can I rent a generator for an event in Hyderabad?

Yes. Tell us the event date, duration, load and venue, and whether you need cables and a changeover panel. We will confirm the size and arrangements in advance.

Do you supply CPCB IV+ generators?

Yes. New diesel gensets up to 800 kW must meet CPCB IV+ norms under the current rules, and we supply and install compliant sets with the required documentation. We confirm the regulatory position at the time of purchase.

Do you work outside Hyderabad?

We support sites elsewhere in Telangana and beyond where practical. Send the location and requirement, and we will confirm what we can offer before you commit.

Areas we serve

In short. Reddy Generators gives rapid-response generator sales, rental, service, AMC and spare-parts support across all of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and in every district within roughly 300 km of Hyderabad, including the neighbouring districts of Karnataka and Maharashtra. For project work, such as long-term rental, installation, commissioning and overhauls, our service engineers travel to sites anywhere in India, and have already worked in Odisha and Assam.

Rapid-response area

Breakdown calls, AMC visits, rental deliveries and spare-parts despatch are handled from our office in Tarnaka, Secunderabad and our workshop at Pedda Amberpet. Within this area a service engineer can normally reach a site the same day or the next working day, and rental sets move from our own fleet.

Project sites across India

New generator supply, long-term rental packages, installation and commissioning, synchronising panels and major overhauls are delivered at project sites anywhere in India. Our engineers have worked at an onshore oil and gas terminal and an offshore pipeline contractor’s base in coastal Andhra Pradesh, a corporate office in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and project sites in Assam. Mobilisation, fuel logistics and operator deployment are planned with the customer before the equipment moves.

Questions customers ask

Do you charge extra for sites outside Hyderabad?
Within Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, travel is built into the AMC or rental quotation. For other states we quote mobilisation separately so there are no surprises.
Can you service a generator in Vijayawada or Visakhapatnam?
Yes. All of Andhra Pradesh is inside our regular service area, and we have maintained sets in Vijayawada, Kakinada and Gadimoga for years.
We are in Bidar or Nanded. Is that covered?
Yes. Both are inside the 300 km belt around Hyderabad that our service engineers cover on a regular basis.
We have a project in Assam or Odisha. Will you come?
Yes, on a project basis. Tell us the site, the kVA and the duration and we will plan mobilisation and site support with you.
