In short. Reddy Generators is a diesel generator business based in Tarnaka, Secunderabad, serving customers in Hyderabad and across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh since 2002. We sell, rent, install, service and supply spare parts for generators of all makes, along with AMF and ATS panels, changeover systems, cabling, earthing, fuel systems and annual maintenance contracts. Our work starts from the load the generator must carry and the consequence of losing it, not from a catalogue rating.
What we do
Most customers come to us with one of five needs, and the business is organised around them.
- Generator sales. New CPCB IV+ compliant diesel sets for standby and prime duty, selected against the measured or scheduled load, and supplied with the panel, cabling, earthing and fuel arrangements needed to make them work. See Generator Systems.
- Rental and temporary power. Sets from small portable units upward for construction sites, events, planned shutdowns, breakdown cover and bridging while permanent supply is built. See Rental & Temporary Power.
- Service and AMC. Breakdown diagnostics, scheduled servicing, overhauls, alternator and AVR work, controller and ATS service, and load-bank testing on sets of any make. See Generator Services.
- Spare parts. Filters, belts, batteries, sensors, AVRs, injectors and overhaul kits, identified against the engine and alternator serial before supply. See Generator Spare Parts.
- Installation and integration. AMF and ATS panels, synchronising schemes, cabling, earthing, exhaust and ventilation, and commissioning.
The machines we work on include sets built on Cummins, Kirloskar, Mahindra, Perkins, CAT, FG Wilson, Greaves, Eicher, Honda and TMTL engines. We work across makes, and we do not present ourselves as the appointed representative of any manufacturer.
Where we work and who we work with
The office is in Tarnaka, Secunderabad and the workshop is at Pedda Amberpet, which puts most of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and the industrial estates around Patancheru, Jeedimetla, Cherlapally and Shamshabad within practical reach for service. Rental and project work regularly takes us further into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Our customers include manufacturing plants, hospitals and clinics, commercial buildings, apartment associations, data and telecom sites, construction contractors, hotels, educational campuses and event organisers. Each has a different idea of what an outage costs, and that difference shapes what we recommend.
How we approach a generator decision
A generator is bought, rented or maintained because something must keep running when the DISCOM supply fails. That framing changes the questions we ask. Over two decades, the problems we have been called to fix were rarely caused by a poor engine. They were caused by a set chosen on connected load rather than running load, a UPS that did not like the generator’s waveform, a fire pump that stalled the set on starting, an AMF panel with the wrong timer settings, or a fuel tank that had not been drained of water before the monsoon.
| We ask first | Instead of | Because |
|---|---|---|
| What must the set support, and for how long? | Which model do you want? | The application decides duty rating, fuel storage and redundancy |
| What runs at the same time? | What is the connected load? | Diversity typically makes running load well below connected load |
| Which motors, UPS or drives start on the set? | What is the total kVA? | Transient voltage and frequency dip often decide the size |
| How will it transfer, protect and earth? | Where should the set stand? | A healthy set behind a faulty transfer scheme is still a failed backup |
| Who will service it and how often? | What is the purchase price? | Lifecycle cost and reliability depend on maintenance, not purchase |
The thinking is described in more detail in How Reddy Works.
What we will not say
Credibility in this trade is easily lost. We do not claim certifications we do not hold, guaranteed uptime, fixed response times we cannot keep in Hyderabad traffic, or project results we cannot document. When a customer asks whether a set will carry a load, we answer with the calculation and its assumptions, and we say which data still needs confirmation from the manufacturer. When availability of a rental set or a part depends on the day, we say so and confirm in writing.
Since 2002
The business was started in 2002 and has been led throughout by engineers who work on the machines themselves. Srinivas Reddy, the Managing Partner, reviews the engineering content we publish and the technical basis of significant proposals. Over that time the work has moved from mainly sales and rental of standalone sets towards integrated jobs where the generator, the changeover panel, the UPS and the distribution have to be designed together. Emission rules have moved too, and new diesel sets up to 800 kW now have to meet CPCB IV+ norms, which has changed engines, controls and aftertreatment on the machines customers buy. More on the people is in Leadership.

Common mistakes
- Choosing a supplier on the purchase price of the set alone; the panel, cabling, earthing and installation then arrive as extras, and the total rises.
- Assuming any service provider can work on any set without sharing the nameplate details; the first visit then becomes an identification visit.
- Treating rental as a simple equipment hire without stating the load and duration; the set supplied may be too small for motor starting or too large to run efficiently.
- Buying a set before the DG room, exhaust route and fuel storage are planned; civil changes after delivery cost more than the planning would have.
What to send us
Tell us whether you want to buy, rent, service or source parts, and include the site location, the load or set rating, and a photo of any existing nameplate or panel. For a new requirement, a load list and a note of the most important loads is enough to start. Use Contact Reddy Generators, call or WhatsApp 098852 01608, or email info@reddygenerators.com.
Questions engineers ask
Is Reddy Generators a manufacturer?
No. We supply, rent, install, service and support diesel generator sets built by established manufacturers and set builders. Our contribution is the selection, integration, installation and lifecycle support around the set.
Which generator brands do you work on?
We service and supply parts for sets of all common makes, including those built on Cummins, Kirloskar, Mahindra, Perkins, CAT, FG Wilson, Greaves, Eicher, Honda and TMTL engines. We sell and service sets across the major makes through our supply tie-ups.
Do you only work in Hyderabad?
Our base is Tarnaka, Secunderabad, and most service work is in Hyderabad and its industrial areas. Rental, installation and project work extends across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with coverage confirmed per job.
Can you supply CPCB IV+ compliant generators?
Yes. New diesel sets up to 800 kW sold in India must meet CPCB IV+ emission norms, and the sets we supply in that range are compliant models. We can also advise on what the norms mean for existing older sets.
Do you offer rental as well as sales?
Yes. We rent sets for short and long durations, with cabling, changeover and fuel planning as required, and we can help decide whether renting or buying makes better sense for a given duty.
We serve all of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and every district within about 300 km of Hyderabad, with project support across India. See the areas we serve.
