Used 125 kVA Generators

In short. The 125 kVA diesel generator — 100 kW at 0.8 power factor, about 174 A per phase at 415 V — is one of the most traded sizes in the used market, because it fits so many duties: bank branches and offices, mid-size apartment blocks, function halls, small factories, cold rooms and commercial floors. Reddy Generators sells used (as-is) and refurbished 125 kVA sets of all major makes, every one load-tested at our Pedda Amberpet workshop before it is offered. Stock changes weekly: message WhatsApp 098852 01608 for what is on the floor today.

What a 125 kVA set runs

With 100 kW of engine behind it, a 125 comfortably carries a typical commercial floor of lighting, computers, lifts and pumps, or a small works — direct-on-line motor starting is its one real limit, with roughly a 12–15 kW motor the comfortable DOL ceiling at a 15 percent dip, and motors into the thirties of kW handled easily through a star-delta or soft starter. We proved the duty ourselves: four 30 kVA sets serve a private bank’s Hyderabad branches, and a single 125 kVA machine has carried a Begumpet business-services office since 2015 — the same rating class doing exactly this work. If your largest motor is big relative to the set, run the motor-starting calculator before deciding.

Why 125 kVA buys well used

Every major maker builds this frame — Kirloskar, Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Cummins, Eicher, Escorts and more — so parts and service skills are everywhere in Telangana and AP, and there are always sets to choose from. Most 125s come out of standby duty with modest hours. That combination — plentiful, well-supported, lightly used — is what makes the rating a sound second-hand purchase when the individual machine passes a proper load test.

What we check before a 125 is offered

Cold start, smoke colour, oil pressure and temperatures on a sustained load-bank run; voltage and frequency stability; alternator insulation; canopy, battery, charger and gauges. A used (as-is) set then carries its inspection report and load-test record, no warranty; a refurbished set has been rebuilt where the inspection demanded and carries our six-month warranty (rubber and plastic parts, consumables, fuel-quality damage and overloading excluded). The definitions are spelled out on the used and refurbished page.

Sold as a complete system, not a bare machine

With the set we supply and install whatever your site lacks: AMF panel, manual or motorised changeover, cabling, earthing and exhaust. One accountable supplier for the machine and the switchgear — and the same team services it afterwards, anywhere in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and the districts around Hyderabad.

Ask what is in stock this week

WhatsApp 098852 01608 or the enquiry form. Tell us the duty (standby or regular), the largest motor if any, and your town. Viewing and witnessing the load test at the workshop is by appointment — and if a 125 is the wrong size for your load, we will say so and show the arithmetic.

Questions buyers ask about used 125 kVA sets

What is the price of a used 125 kVA generator?

It depends on make, hours and condition proven on the load test — see how used sets are valued. Message WhatsApp 098852 01608 for this week’s 125 kVA stock with test records and prices.

How many amps does a 125 kVA generator give?

About 174 A per phase at 415 V, three-phase, and 100 kW at 0.8 power factor. The full table is on the full-load current chart.

Will a 125 kVA set start my 30 kW motor?

Direct-on-line, no — the starting surge of a 30 kW motor wants a much larger set. With a star-delta, soft starter or VFD, a 125 handles it comfortably. Check your exact case in the motor-starting calculator or ask us.

Used or refurbished 125 — which should I buy?

Light standby duty: a good as-is set with a clean test record. Daily or long running: refurbished, for the rebuild and the six-month warranty.

Can I see the set run before buying?

Yes — workshop viewing at Pedda Amberpet is by appointment, and you can witness the load-bank test of your set.
