In short. A used generator has no list price. Each set is valued on five things: rating, make, running hours, mechanical condition proven on a load test, and its emission stage against your site’s rules. Two 250 kVA machines of the same year can sit far apart in price and both be fairly valued. This page explains how we price the sets we sell — and how we value a set when we buy yours or take it in part exchange. For the sets in stock this week and their prices, message WhatsApp 098852 01608.
The five things that set a used generator’s value
- Rating and demand. The popular standby ratings move fast and hold value; unusual ratings sit longer and price lower for the buyer.
- Make and parts availability. A set whose engine has a dense service and parts network in Telangana and AP is worth more than a rarer import of the same size, whatever the hour meter says.
- Hours and history. Genuine low hours with service records lift the price. No records means the load test decides — which is why every set we offer is tested first, not described from memory.
- Condition on load. Our workshop runs each set on load before it is offered; smoke, voltage stability, oil pressure and temperatures tell the truth about the engine and alternator. You receive the load-test record with the machine.
- Emission stage versus your site. A used set keeps the stage it was built with. Where your pollution-control requirements demand CPCB IV+ or a retrofit device, that changes which sets are worth buying at all — we check this for your site before quoting, not after.
Used, refurbished and new: how the price steps work
A used (as-is) set is the lowest step: inspected, load-tested, sold in its existing condition with the inspection report and no warranty. A refurbished set costs more because it has been rebuilt — completely or in the parts the inspection demanded — and carries our six-month warranty. A new set is the top step and the only one with a factory warranty and current emission stage. The right step depends on duty: a standby set that will run a few hours a month earns back the used discount many times; a prime-duty machine running daily usually justifies refurbished or new. The full definitions are on the used and refurbished generators page.
Looking for a specific rating?
Buyer guides for the most-asked sizes: used 125 kVA, used 250 kVA and used 500 kVA. Stock changes week to week across 15 to 2,000 kVA and all major makes — if your rating is not listed, ask; it may be in the workshop now or arriving soon.
Selling your generator, or trading it in
We buy used generators outright and take sets in part exchange against a new or refurbished machine. Send the make, kVA, year, hour-meter reading and clear photographs of the nameplate and the set; we inspect, test on load where possible, and make a firm offer. An honestly described machine with records always earns a better price than a surprise on test day.

Questions buyers ask about used generator prices
What does a used 250 kVA generator cost?
It depends on make, hours, condition on load test and emission stage — two honest 250s can price far apart. Message WhatsApp 098852 01608 for the 250 kVA sets in stock this week with their test records and prices.
Why is one used set much cheaper than another of the same kVA?
Usually hours, condition or parts availability — and sometimes because the cheap one was never load-tested. Always compare test records, not just nameplates.
Is a refurbished set worth the extra over as-is used?
For regular duty, usually yes: the rebuild plus the six-month warranty removes the early-failure risk that makes cheap sets expensive. For light standby duty, a good as-is set with a clean test record can be the better buy.
Do prices include the panel and installation?
Quotations are itemised: the set, and then AMF panel, changeover, transport and installation as your site needs. Nothing is hidden inside a single number.
How do you value my old generator for exchange?
Same five factors, applied in reverse: rating, make, hours and records, condition on test, and emission stage. Send nameplate photos and the hour reading for a firm offer.
