In short. Since 2015, Reddy Generators has supplied a 125 kVA rental generator to a business services company at Begumpet, Hyderabad, and maintained it throughout. After more than ten years the contract is still running: the client has chosen, year after year, to keep renting rather than buy its own set.

Why a customer keeps renting for ten years
A business services office runs on computers, networks and air conditioning, and needs power every working hour. Renting gives the client a working generator without owning it: servicing, repairs, parts and statutory upkeep stay with Reddy Generators, and the client pays a single monthly charge. When a rental continues for a decade, the customer is repeatedly choosing the service over the alternative of buying.
Outcome and limits
The set has been in service at Begumpet since 2015 and the contract continues. This record is based on Reddy Generators’ contract records; operating logs are not published.
Questions engineers ask about this project
Is it cheaper to rent a generator for ten years than to buy one?
It can be, once maintenance, repairs, replacement parts, compliance and the cost of downtime are included. Renting moves all of those to the supplier, and the customer pays one predictable monthly charge.
What keeps a rental generator reliable over many years?
Scheduled servicing, prompt breakdown attendance, and replacing worn parts before they fail. The supplier carries that responsibility for the whole contract.
