In short. Project support is defined by what can actually be delivered at a particular site, on a particular date, for a particular duration. We work from our office in Tarnaka, Secunderabad and our workshop at Pedda Amberpet, serving Hyderabad, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh directly and supporting projects further afield after a case-by-case review. Every request starts with four questions: where is the site, what needs power, when is it needed and for how long. The answers decide equipment, logistics and what we can commit to in writing.
Where we work from and how far we go
Reddy Generators has served customers from Secunderabad since 2002. Most of our sales, rental, installation, service and AMC work is in Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Cyberabad and the industrial areas around the city, and across Telangana. We also support projects in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states when the scope, logistics and service arrangements can be confirmed. We do not claim branches, regional service centres or a standing fleet in places where we do not have them. Where a project relies on a supplier, a transporter or a local partner, we say so in the proposal.
Location is an engineering input
A site address changes more than the delivery cost. It changes the conditions the generator must survive and the logistics that keep it running.
| Site factor | Engineering effect | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| High ambient temperature | Reduced output and cooling margin in Telangana summers above 40 degrees | Derating curve, radiator capacity, room air flow |
| Altitude | Lower air density reduces engine output at higher elevations | Manufacturer altitude derating |
| Dust | Faster air filter loading at quarries, cement and construction sites | Filter type, service interval |
| Monsoon and flooding | Water ingress to fuel, trenches and low-lying set locations | Plinth height, drainage, enclosure rating |
| Coastal or chemical atmosphere | Corrosion of enclosure, radiator and terminals | Coatings, enclosure material |
| Access | Crane, trailer or forklift access and road limits | Route survey, lifting plan |
| Fuel supply | Runtime depends on refuelling reliability | Tank size, supplier, refuel interval |
| Local rules | Noise, emission and electrical approvals | Applicable CPCB, CEA and local requirements |
The ambient temperature derating and altitude derating guides explain how much capacity to allow. A site survey is how these factors move from assumption to fact; see site survey.
How a project request is assessed
- Application: what needs power, the load list, motors and sensitive equipment.
- Location: the site address, access, ambient and any restrictions.
- Scope: sales, rental, installation, engineering, service or parts, or a combination.
- Timing: the date power is needed and the duration, whether days, months or permanent.
- Capability: whether we can deliver the scope directly from our own resources.
- Sourcing and logistics: whether equipment, transport, cabling or a partner must be arranged.
- Written confirmation: what we can commit to in a quotation, including mobilisation and attendance terms.
The outcome is one of a small number of clear positions: we can supply directly, we can supply subject to confirming equipment availability, we can supply with a named external supplier or partner, or the requirement needs a specialist we would refer you to. Each is stated plainly, because a vague yes is worse than a clear no when power is at stake.
Temporary and long-duration sites are different
A site that is acceptable for a two-day event can be unsuitable for six months of construction power. Long durations bring refuelling logistics, routine servicing at site, cable protection, theft risk, noise complaints and the need for an operator or a monitoring arrangement. If the project might expand, the generator location, cable routes and fuel arrangement should allow for a second set rather than allocating space that only works for the first. The rental and temporary power pages cover these arrangements.
Urgent requests
When a plant has lost power or a set has failed, speed matters, but urgency does not remove the electrical questions. We still need the load to be supplied, the voltage and phase, how the set will connect, whether a changeover exists, and whether the vehicle can reach the location. A fast delivery of the wrong size, with no way to connect it, does not restore anything. We assess urgent requests against equipment availability, site access and the distance from Secunderabad, and we confirm a realistic attendance or delivery time rather than a promise. The emergency power page lists what to have ready.
A practical emergency sequence
Assess the situation and the safety of the failed equipment, isolate it, prioritise which loads must come back first, connect a temporary source sized for those loads, then diagnose and repair the original set. Following that order reduces restoration time and avoids damage from reconnecting loads blindly.
Common mistakes
- Giving a city name instead of the exact site location, which hides access, crane and ambient issues until the vehicle arrives.
- Asking for a generator size without a load list in an emergency, which risks a set too small to start the motors or too large to connect.
- Assuming a rental set includes cables, a changeover, fuel and an operator, which leaves a gap on the day of connection unless the scope states it.
- Planning a long-duration site like a short event, which causes fuel shortages and missed services within weeks.
What to send us
Send the exact site location with a map pin, site photographs showing where the set will stand and the access route, the load list or the main incomer rating, the voltage and phase, the date and duration required, and whether you need sales, rental, installation or service. For urgent breakdowns add the generator nameplate, the alarm shown and the hours run. Send a rental or project enquiry, or call or WhatsApp 098852 01608 for urgent cases.
Questions engineers ask
Do you support projects outside Hyderabad?
Yes, across Telangana directly and in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states after reviewing the scope, logistics and service arrangements. We state in the quotation what is supplied by us and what depends on a transporter, supplier or local partner.
How quickly can you deliver a generator in an emergency?
It depends on the size needed, current availability, the distance from Secunderabad and site access. We confirm a realistic time when we receive the load and site details, and we put any attendance commitment in writing.
Does high summer temperature in Telangana affect generator capacity?
Yes. Most engines are rated at a reference ambient, and output and cooling margin fall above it. For enclosed or room installations where intake air can exceed 40 degrees, allow derating according to the manufacturer’s curve and check ventilation.
Can you provide service at a remote project site?
For long-duration projects we plan scheduled service visits and fuel arrangements as part of the scope. The frequency, response terms and travel are agreed in the contract based on the site location and running hours.
