General-arrangement drawings, CAD files and BIM models help translate equipment selection into a physical installation. They support dimensional coordination, access planning, cable and pipe routing, lifting, ventilation, exhaust, fuel interfaces, switchgear clearances and maintenance space. Their value comes from coordinating the complete installation rather than simply showing the outline of a machine.

Do not infer missing engineering data from geometry
A 3D model or CAD block can show size and position, but it does not automatically prove weight, centre of gravity, structural capacity, thermal performance, noise level, electrical rating, fault withstand, fuel autonomy or regulatory compliance. Those attributes require the applicable technical documentation and project calculations.
